Repairing your car

2009 Hurst/Hemi Challenger

 

Here it is: the 2009 Hurst / Hemi Challenger Series 4 SRT8.  The Series 4 starts with a 6.1 liter, 425-hp SRT V8 engine and six-speed manual transmission.  Next, it gets shipped to Hurst Performance Vehicles who adds a Vortech centrifugal supercharger boosting the Series 4 to 572 hp at the flywheel.  Nice.  Now, the standard SRT8 is on the market just over $42k, but add on all the Hurst goodies and the sticker could jump to the $70k mark.  (Read the entire article at Autoweek.com here.)

Barrett-Jackson event in Palm Beach County

On April 9-11, the Americraft Expo Center at the South FL Fairgrounds will host the 7th Annual  Barrett-Jackson Collector Car event.  If you want to buy a ticket or if you just can’t make it out to the Fairgrounds, check out CityPlace in Downtown West Palm Beach on April 4th, 6pm-10pm where the cars will be on view and more information will be provided. 

Palm Beach’s Supercar Weekend 2009

Palm Beach recently played host to two major car events - Palm Beach Cavallino Classic &  Supercar Weekend 2009.  If you were anywhere near Palm Beach or West Palm Beach, you likely caught a glimpse of one of the many exotic and rare supercars soaking up the South Florida sun.

Car museums in Florida

For the auto enthusiast, going to to a musem is probably not on the to-do list.  However, what if it’s an automotive museum? 

• The Elliott Museum – 825 NE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, FL  33496 – hosts an expanding collection of vintage vehicles, many of which were once owned by businessman Sterling Elliott.  Cars on view include a 1909 Hupmobile and a 1903 Cadillac. 
• The Ft. Lauderdale Antique Car Museum - 1527 SW 1st Ave, Ft. Lauderdale, FL  33315 – is packed with car memorabilia as well as 20+ Packards from the 1900s to the 1940s. 
• If you’re on the West Coast of Florida, the Sarasota Classic Car Museum is for you – 5500 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL  34243.  With 60,000 sq. ft., the SCCM boasts over 100 cars including everything from Auburns and Bentleys to Ferraris.  Classic cars, muscle cars, exotic cars…this place has it all. 
• Tampa is also on the list for cities with a car museum.  The Tampa Bay Automobile Museum - 3301 Gateway Centre Blvd, Pinellas Park, FL  33782 – has cars recognized for their significance in history and engineering, like front wheel drive and rear engine cars from the 1920s and 1930s. 

Kruse International Car Auction

Kruse International is one of the largest collector car auction firms, and they recently held an auction right here in South Florida.  In addition to the auction, they raised money and awareness for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.  Boca Raton hosted the festivities this year on January 1-4, and more than 1,000 cars were present.  One of which was Elvis Presley’s 1968 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado.  With original title and bill of sale in hand, the Cadillac sold for $115,000.
